WILDLIFE OFFICER SHARES HOPES & FEARS FOR SUSSEX WILDLIFE

Chichester District Council community wildlife officer, Sarah Hughes, spoke to a packed hall at the Meeting Place.  She shared about the challenges facing our local wildlife and the number of species in danger of extinction.

However, she also had a positive message of encouragement, upholding Westbourne as an example of how communities can work together to turn the tide, restoring habitats which encourage the return of native species and enthusing the next generation.

There was certainly plenty to discuss as attendees mingled and shared refreshments.

Richard Hitchcock, Chairperson of Greening Westbourne said he was encouraged by the turn out and hailed the event a great success.  He thanked Sarah for her engaging and thought provoking presentation and encouraged more people to get involved with Greening Westbourne and similar initiatives which are making a real difference on the ground.
